Amber Steel Aggro – Pressure in a Hostile Meta

    Amber Steel Aggro image

Amber Steel Aggro is one of the most aggressive archetypes in Disney Lorcana. The deck is built to apply pressure from the very first turns, forcing opponents into uncomfortable lines and punishing any stumble immediately.

The Amber half of the deck enables this aggressive playstyle by providing a high density of 2-lore questers and characters that can cheat out additional characters at a reduced cost. This allows Amber Steel to go wide early and start accumulating lore before many decks are fully set up.

Steel complements this perfectly by giving the deck access to some of the strongest removal in the game. While Amber pushes the pace, Steel makes sure your opponent cannot stabilize comfortably by removing key characters at critical moments.

Amber Steel Aggro in the Current Meta

It’s no secret that Amber Steel Aggro is currently in a difficult position. Many of the newer cards introduced into the format are explicitly anti-aggro, making it harder to maintain pressure throughout the entire game.

That said, the deck is far from unplayable. Amber Steel still excels at snowballing games. If your opponent fails to answer your early threats, the game can end very quickly. The deck rewards tight sequencing, strong mulligans, and confident decision-making.

    Why Play Amber Steel Aggro?

One of the biggest strengths of the current Amber Steel builds is the ability to create an almost impenetrable board state. With cards like Pluto – Friendly Pooch, the new Rajah – Devoted Protector, and the new Mickey Mouse – Amber Champion, the deck can establish a massive defensive wall that protects its low-cost questers.

This setup allows your 2-lore characters to quest safely turn after turn, while your opponent struggles to break through. Instead of racing blindly, Amber Steel can transition into a controlled aggression style where it dictates combat and forces unfavorable trades.

    Removal That Still Wins Games

Despite the hostile meta, Amber Steel retains access to arguably the best removal spell in the game: Strength of a Raging Fire This card alone allows the deck to remove core opposing characters efficiently and maintain tempo, even when playing from behind.

When timed correctly, Strength of a Raging Fire can completely swing games, clearing the way for lethal quest turns or preventing opponents from stabilizing behind key threats.

    The Princess Engine Still Matters

Even in a hostile meta, Amber Steel Aggro can still end games quickly if left unanswered. Even in the current environment, Amber Steel benefits greatly from having access to the Princess synergy. With Tiana – Restaurant Owner and Aurora – Holding Court, the deck still retains powerful interaction and protection tools that can disrupt opponents and reinforce its board state.

This combo gives Amber Steel additional layers of resilience and flexibility, helping it push through games that might otherwise slip away. One of the strengths of Amber Steel Aggro is its ability to punish slow starts.

Amber Steel Aggro performs especially well against slower midrange strategies, including archetypes like Amber Amethyst, which recently won the Enchanted Tour, and Sapphire Amethyst, which claimed victory at DLC Singapore. You can read more about those winning lists here and here.

    Final Thoughts

Amber Steel Aggro is not the easiest deck to pilot right now, and it is certainly not the safest meta choice. However, in the hands of a confident player who understands tempo, sequencing, and pressure, it remains a very real threat.

If your opponent cannot answer your early board, you will snowball.
If they stumble even once, the game can be over immediately.

Amber Steel may be under pressure — but it still knows how to finish games fast.

  • Amber Amethyst Wins Enchanted Tour

    Amber Amethyst Wins Enchanted Tour

Hi everyone, I’m Christian and in this article I will give you some insights about my lucky streak at the Enchanted Tour 2025 – Christmas Edition in Austria and we will have a closer look at my Amber/Amethyst decklist.

The Enchanted Tour 2025 – Christmas Edition Amber/Amethyst winning decklist

Enchanted Tour 2025 – Christmas Edition

The Tournament took place on the 20th and 21st of December near Vienna, Austria. We had 118 players competing for the prices of enchanted Elsa – Spirit of Winter and multiple Set10 booster Box.

Enchanted Tour Day 1 – Swiss Rounds

I started the day with a tough match against Amethyst/Steel and won 2:1. The following rounds I played against Emerald/Steel (2:0), Amethyst/Steel (2:1), Amber/Emerald Dogs (2:1, ended up in Top 4) and another Amethyst/Steel (2:0, Top 16). With a 5-0 score, I was able to draw the last two rounds against my teammate Harald and the future finalist Riccardo.

Now it’s the time to be honest with you. I won every single dice roll. That’s something that doesn’t show up in all the standings you see over the internet but sometimes you also have to be lucky.

At the end of day 1, I was the 3rd seed behind my teammates Lukas and Harald and I was happy to get some good rest.

    Enchanted Tour Day 2 – Top 16

Day 2 started with my first Amethyst/Sapphire matchup of the tournament which I feel pretty comfortable in. Unfortunately it was against another teammate and an incredible player – Ying. After being behind 0-14 on lore in game one, I managed to climb back and win overall with 2:0.

Top 8 was against another Amethyst/Sapphire deck. His four Iago – Giant Spectral Parrot and four Ursula – Whisper of Vanessa made it really hard for me. It was a really tight game with some difficult decisions where I made some mistakes but in the end, I had enough characters on board to finish it. Confession: I was really nervous when 20 people stood beside us and watched us play.

In the semifinals it was time to face another Amethyst/Steel. With my higher seeding from day 1, I was able to go first in that match. I was able to win it 2:0 on stream. Check out the whole tournament if you are interested. https://www.twitch.tv/rarehunters_team/

Ruby/Amethyst, my beloved deck, my favorite color combination since Set 1, I had to beat you in the finals to be the Enchanted Tour 2025 – Christmas Edition Champion. Both games the Lantern were on my side and I was able to win 2:0.

With an overall record of 9-0-2, the Enchanted Elsa, signed by the Artist Matthew Robert Davis, was mine. I won my first big tournament. Big thanks to my team for all the support and to the whole community for cheering me on. It was nice to see you all!

Amber Amethyst Control – Deck Talk

This deck wants to curve out and be on the board early, so your opponent can’t run away with lore. You have strong, reactive tools in the midgame and want to slow down your opponent. In the late game you win with card advantage and evasive characters.

Let’s have a more detailed look at my Amber/Amethyst Enchanted Tour deck and my card choices.

    1 Cost

Eilonwy – Princess of Llyr – This card has a similar role as Basil – Practiced Detective has in Amethyst/Sapphire. You can support your Genies and Elsas to banish your opponents characters, but you can also support opposing Dumbos or Cheshire Cat – Inexplicable to banish them with World’s Greatest Criminal Mind if you need to.

Royal Guard – Octopus Soldier – This little guy can get up to 4 or even 6 strength pretty fast. Increase his strength with Junior Woodchuck Guidebook or any other method that lets you draw cards.

    2 Cost

Mowgli – Man Cub – Mowgli has the ability to get rid of so many strong cards from your opponent, like Emerald Chromicon or Strength of a Raging Fire.

Iago – Stompin’ Mad – This prevents the opponent from questing in the early turns. Paired with your Eilonwy, he can even take out an Tiana – Restaurant Owner or Demona – Scourge of the Wyvern Clan.

Lantern – Make your deck shine bright. If you find it on curve, you can play the same lines as Amethyst/Sapphire with Genie into Elsa for example. But with all the other great options on 2, you do not rely on them.

Junior Woodchuck Guidebook – This is the perfect card against opposing Demona – Scourge of the Wyvern Clan or Clarabelle – Light on Her Hooves. You drop the item and you draw from it, whenever you need the cards.

    3 Cost

Cheshire Cat – Inexplicable – This cat is just a power house which makes questing very difficult for your opponent.

Bagheera – Cautious Explorer – It has a solid body and can challenge into Lexington – Small in Stature. I added this card pretty late in the building process, because for a long time this slot was given to The Black Cauldron. I love this item, but it only serves you in the long and grindy matchups, where you already are good in. So I had to cut it for a more solid character curve.

The Horseman Strikes! – This card is one of the reasons you want to pair Amethyst with Amber. It’s a removal for evasives where you don’t have to be on the board, which can be difficult against the more consistent ramp of Amethyst/Sapphire or the song-based removal of Amethyst/Steel.

World’s Greatest Criminal Mind – One of the best old school big boy removal.

    4 Cost

Dumbo – Ninth Wonder of the Universe – I think there is nothing much to say about this card anymore.

Genie – Wish Fulfilled – Another amazing card.

Iago – Giant Spectral Parrot – This is just a GIANT. If he can stick to the board, you have everything under your control.

Madam Mim – Elephant – This is a nice card to get your Mowlgi or Elsa back, but it’s also very strong if you are able to get a boosted Cheshire Cat – Inexplicable with some cards under it. I thought I would need more than one copy – especially against Amethyst/Steel – but that was not the case.

    5 Cost

Elsa – The Fifth Spirit – This is a must have in every Amethyst deck.

Hades – Looking for a Deal – Hades is a really interesting card. I think in this deck you can make some bluffs with all the other removal that you have, to get extra cards and still remove the opponents characters from their board.

Ursula – Whisper of Vanessa – This will win you games if she doesn’t get answered. I think she only works well in decks with ramp. Combined with your Genie, she’s able to close out games pretty fast.

    6 Cost

Demona – Scourge of the Wyvern Clan – Demona can be extremely strong if you are on the play and can curve out, but she also has an immense comeback potential.

    Amber Amethyst Enchanted Tour Conclusion

I had a lot of fun creating and playing this Amber/Amethyst deck at the Enchanted Tour. My goal was to reach Top 16, but winning the whole thing is crazy. So if you like drawing cards and be more reactive with your playstyle, you should try out this deck. In my oppinion it has an edge against every other Amethyst deck.

  • Jacob Frank DLC Singapore Champion

    Jacob Frank DLC Singapore Champion

In the world of Disney, there are many stories so unreal because of how everything always ends up in a Happy Ending. At least most of them. Today, I will share with you the Fairytale Like Story of Jacob Frank DLC Singapore Champion.

I will be sharing my personal experience with him, as well as his journey on how he became a champion. I also interviewed him to share with you his thoughts in general and about DLC Singapore.

    The First Encounter

I first met Jacob a few Enchanted Tours ago. He was my round 1 opponent. At the time, we were still in the 2 Game Format. I realized after our match that he was a very skilled player. He knew exactly how the match up works between his Ruby Amethyst against my Amethyst Steel. The match ended up in a draw.

The following Enchanted Tour we couldn’t finish what we started since he wasn’t playing in the event. Instead he became one of the Casters. I later found out that he has plans to become a creator and possibly a caster if given the chance.

    Austria

During the launch period of the Rarehunters Team, I went over to Austria to speed things up and help. While going through the process, I played in a lot of the League Nights and Tournaments in the Rarehuntershop where Jacob Frank was a regular. We faced each other from time to time, and every single one of them was an Epic Clash!

Jacob Frank was not part of the first Roster that was announced for the Rarehunters Team. To some, this was disheartening to hear. But to Jacob, it is but a fuel to the fire that he always had. He kept pushing hard to show that he is worthy of a spot, he kept doing his best to showcase his skill, he kept talking and associating with the team. He made sure we heard him when he was trying to say that he is willing and will do anything to be a part of this team.

    Second Wave of Roster

After DLC Bologna, there were plans to add a few more players into the Rarehunters Roster. We were scouting a bunch of players and he was one of them. Alexander Fuchs, the team owner, informed me that Jacob is one of the players that we chose to join the team.

After receiving this information, it was part of my role as the General Manager to get the players ready. So Jacob and I got into the meeting right away. During the meeting, I spoke with him how the program works. I told him everything he needed to know. The route to success. The whole package of being a Pro Player and a Content Creator at the same time.

During this meeting, Jacob looked like an anime character. There was fire in his eyes. It was filled with so much excitement and motivation. He told me was in for all of it! That he will do everything to make sure he becomes successful! I haven’t seen that fire in someone else’s eyes for a long time. Someone who is ready to drop everything to stay focused on the road to Success.

    DLC Singapore

A couple of weeks before DLC Singapore, Jacob came to us to ask for some advice. He was having trouble with his boss with his daily job. It was getting in the way for his plans in the future as a Pro Player and establishing himself as a Content Creator. He said he wants to quit. He said he wants to fully focus on his new journey, his new career

I shared with him my story. How a few years ago I was in the same place. That I understand his frustrations and what I did to handle it. I quit my job to fully focus on my career. I warned him how risky it was. How scary it was. But I also told him that when I did that, I made sure that I gave it my best shot. I didn’t take it for granted and that I won’t stop until I reach my goals. It is something that I would never advise anyone to do. But since he was thinking about it already, I felt that I should share my previous journey with him.

A week later he came back to us. He shared the news that he quit his job. That he is ready to fully lock in. To show us and the world what he has to offer.

    The Tournament

As a team, we practice and discuss with each other strategies and what deck we will be bringing. Jacob and I were trying our best to make Ruby Amethyst work. But it felt too inconsistent. Especially in a Best of 1 Format. So he decided that since he has so many reps in Blurple, that Blurple might not be the worst pick for this format.

There was a lot of risk bringing a deck like blurple into a Best of 1 Format. Missing Ramp on Turn 2 can be devastating. Facing aggro decks can be very tough as well. But he figured that if he takes the risk and survives the swiss rounds, he will be in a field filled with Amethyst Steel and he will be well positioned in the Top Cut.

That is exactly what happened. He barely managed to survive the swiss and placed 62nd Seed for Top 64. When you placed this low on seeding, you most likely will be On The Draw for the rest of the tournament. Despite that, he managed to win the rest of the remaining rounds and became the player we know now, Jacob Frank DLC Singapore Champion.

Jacob Frank DLC Singapore Champion Interview

We will skip the formalities since we’ve done that in person already. From the Event itself, the celebration dinner, and all the way back to the Hotel Room where Me, Zan Syed, Nathan Trippe, and Jacob Frank were rooming together. Now, let’s interview Jacob Frank DLC Singapore Champion.

Earlmeister: “Let’s get this one out of the way right away! How does it feel knowing that you are now a DLC Champion and you’ve secured your World Championship Invite?”
Jacob Frank: “It’s an incredible feeling. I am still blown away and I am thinking about it permanently. Going to worlds is a dream come true and I can’t wait to participate.”

Earlmeister: “Back in the Hotel in Singapore, we were discussing your deck choice. Despite testing blurple, I was too scared to bring it myself because of the match up with the Dogs and missing Blue on 2. How were you feeling during that time when you were about to lock in Blurple?”
Jacob Frank: “Of course I was a bit concerned as well, because I knew it was a risky strategy to take. I was not too skeptical though, because I knew I could pilot the deck well. Also it was clear to me that I had to take a risk to stand out.”

Earlmeister: “How was the overall feel of the swiss rounds? What was going through your head?”
Jacob Frank: “I was just praying to not lose die rolls against aggro players. And actually it happened so early on already. In the 2nd and 3rd round I had to play against aggro going second. Luckily I was winning one of those, otherwise I would not have made it this far.”

Earlmeister: “Our teammate Long Dao bubbled out while you barely made it to the top cut. You’ve accomplished your goal of surviving the swiss rounds. How are you feeling during this time?”
Jacob Frank: “When I lost my final Swiss round I thought it was over and I felt devastated. I was just hoping that I could still make it into the Top Cut, but I knew it would get really close. When I finally knew I made it in, I was so happy. It was a total relief. I was hugging my team mates. I know my chance lives on.”

Earlmeister: “Getting to the Finals, you knew you were going up against Amethyst Steel in a Best of 3. A Match Up that you are in favor of despite being on the draw. Did that distract you at all in any way? or were you fully locked in and wanna make sure this DLC is yours.”
Jacob Frank: “I think I had to overcome so many obstacles that I was afraid of before on that day, so in the end I wasn’t afraid anymore at all. Every match in the top cut I was playing as if it would be my last. I knew I was not favored in some of my matches already during that day. I knew there was only one more job to do and I knew I could do it.”

Earlmeister: “You were 1-0 in the Finals and during game 2, things were going very well for you. What is that feeling like? Knowing you are about to win a DLC. Knowing that any moment now, you will be crowned as the Champion?”
Jacob Frank: “When I saw him missing his 2 drop, I knew my chances were suddenly extremely good to win the whole thing. And during this moment I got scared all of a sudden, because I somehow lost from this position, I could not forgive myself. I was playing really well the whole day and I think it had to do with the low amount of pressure I was putting on myself. Suddenly the pressure was there again. I still managed to play well, good enough at least”

Earlmeister: “You quit your Job a week before the DLC, that must’ve put a lot of pressure on you. Were you worried or stressed at all leading up to the DLC?”
Jacob Frank: “I was actually quite relieved. The whole situation with my work place was putting a lot of pressure on me. I did not know if I could go to future tournaments, I did not know if I would have time for testing. In the end I was just happy that I made this decision.”

Earlmeister: “Do you think quitting your job was the right move?”
Jacob Frank: “Yes, it was definitely the right decision.”

Earlmeister: “Now that you’ve secured your invite for Worlds, what is next for Jacob Frank?”
Jacob Frank: “Obviously the next goal is to become the World Champion, which sounds completely crazy, but that’s where I am at and I will do my best to make this dream come true. But first I will focus on other things. I will try to make more content also for my YouTube and Twitch and I am currently working on a guide for my Metafy.”

Earlmeister: “Do you have any advice for our readers today?”
Jacob Frank: “There is one thing I can say directly to the whole Lorcana community and that is, You are all amazing! I love you all! You are the reason I am still playing this game and without you all I would never have come this far. Also you have probably heard it a lot of times before, but I will say it again. Never give up. I was almost giving up and now I am literally living the dream. And you can do it too, just believe in yourself.”

Earlmeister: “Is there anything else you would like to share?”
Jacob Frank: “Check out my Socials and reach out to me if you have any questions. Thanks for having me on the interview.”

Earlmeister: Awesome! Thank You so much Jacob for taking your time to answer these questions!

    DLC Singapore Champion Conclusion

Jacob Frank DLC Singapore Champion Story is one of my favorites in the Disney Lorcana Universe and I feel like this is only the beginning. A Fairytale like story that so far has a happy ending! The struggles, the obstacles, the decision, and the risk taken has all led up to his recent success.

Jacob’s journey just started and I am sure there are more exciting things to come from this. Make sure to follow his journey by following him on his Socials through this link: https://linktr.ee/jacob.frank

  • Rarehunters Team Owned DLC Singapore

    Rarehunters Team Owned DLC Singapore

A few months ago, before DLC Singapore, Rarehunters Team announced their debut in the world of Disney Lorcana. Starting with the Pro Player Roster of very skilled and talented players. Promising everyone that the team will attempt to bring and provide an eSports culture experience to everyone within the TCG universe.

    Rarehunters Team Owned DLC Singapore

Today, we will share the results of how well the team did at the Event. How the Rarehunters Team Owned DLC Singapore.

    DLC Singapore Team Roster

Originally, the plan was to only send a few players to DLC Singapore due to the format of the DLC itself, Best of 1. But there were other factors that the team considered and later changed its mind leading to the event.

Here is the Roster that the team decided to send to DLC Singapore. The team sent: Earlmeister, Zan Syed, Ricemaster, Lukas Kaupa, Dzenan, Harald, Mcnuffin, Long Dao, David Weir, MrSilat, Jacob Frank, and Artabax who ended up not attending for personal reasons.

    The Strategy

The Team initially predicted that the meta will be very aggressive due to the Best of 1 format. So most of us decided that Amethyst Steel would be the best deck to counter this. It is also a deck that is capable of winning on the draw. On top of that the deck has a great match up spread in general.

But there are some of the players in the team who chose to go a different route. Harald brought Amber Emerald Dogs since aggro is really good in a Best of 1 Format. While Ricemaster, Long Dao, and Jacob Frank chose Blurple since if they can survive the swiss rounds, the Top Cut field will most likely be filled with Amethyst Steel.

    DLC Singapore Results

    Swiss Rounds

The team’s conversion rate keeps improving with every DLC. In DLC Bologna we only had 2 players who made it to day 2 out everyone who attended. In DLC Milwaukee we had a 50% conversion rate, 4 out of 8 made it to day 2. With Ricemaster and Zan Syed going 10-2 bubbling out of the top 32 cut and barely missing their invite to NA Championships.

DLC Singapore is on the other hand is in a whole other level. Out of the 11 Rarehunters who attended, 8 of them made it to Top 64. It was our best conversion rate by far.

    Top Cut

The Rarehunters Team Owned DLC Singapore during the Swiss Rounds. But the journey doesn’t end there. Every single member in the Top Cut understands that the Job is not done.

Here are the Final Results for each player in the Top Cut.

    DLC Singapore Ricemaster

    Ricemaster – Blurple – Top 64

    DLC Singapore Lukas Kaupa

Lukas Kaupa – Amethyst Steel – Top 32

    DLC Singapore Harald

Harald – Amber Emerald Dogs – Top 32

    DLC Singapore MrSilat

MrSilat – Amethyst Steel Midrange – Top 32

    DLC Singapore David Weir

David Weir – Amethyst Steel Midrange – Top 32

    Earlmeister

Earlmeister – Amethyst Steel Midrange – Top 8

    Dzenan

Dzenan – Amethyst Steel Midrange – Top 4

    Jacob Frank

Jacob Frank – Blurple – DLC Singapore Champion

Unfortunately, with having 8 players from the team making it to a Top 64 Cut, facing each other was bound to happen. Jacob had to face MrSilat during Top 32. Earlmeister and Dzenan faced each other during the Top 8. Dzenan and Jacob faced each other in the Semi Finals.

    DLC Singapore Conclusion

Overall it was an Outstanding performance by the Rarehunters Team. We earned 2 Continental Championship invites from both Earlmeister and Dzenan giving them another shot at qualifying for Worlds. While Jacob winning it all earned him a spot for World Championships for Season 2.
